When do credits expire?

Credits do not all expire the same way. The expiration rule depends on the type of credit.

Subscription credit expiry

Subscription credits expire at the end of the current subscription cycle.

This means:

  • Pay as you go subscription credits expire at the end of the 4-week cycle.

  • Annual subscription credits expire at the end of the annual cycle.

PAYG credit expiry

PAYG credits stay valid for 12 months from the purchase date.

They do not depend on your regular subscription cycle and are not reset by normal subscription renewals.

Why customers sometimes think credits disappeared

In many cases, the credits did not disappear unexpectedly. What usually happened is:

  • Subscription credits reached the end of the cycle and expired.

  • The customer assumed subscription credits rolled over automatically.

  • The customer expected PAYG rules to apply to subscription credits.

  • Your AppSumo tier includes a fixed credit bundle per month.

  • Lifetime access means you keep getting those bundles over time, not unlimited credits inside each month.

  • If you regularly need more usage than your tier includes, you can add PAYG credits or move into a subscription that fits higher usage.
